SS1 - Safety awareness (STCW)

Introduction: Presentation of the trainees, identification of the group's level of knowledge and the expectations of each trainee, and presentation of the teaching method adapted to the context of the session by the trainer. The trainer then presents the training objectives and the following program:

Difference between safety and security
Basic concepts of maritime and port security
Maritime and port security
Regulations
Meaning and implications of different security levels
Techniques used to circumvent security measures
Security-related information processing and communication

Conclusion: Questions/answers, consolidation and evaluation of acquired knowledge, training assessment and evaluation

FOR PARTICIPANTS

To ensure the effectiveness of this training course, trainees should be aware of the conditions under which it will be carried out before the start of the course. SS1 is aimed at all seafarers on board, whether seagoing personnel or on-board crew.

OBJECTIVE

recognize threats to safety
understand the need and means to maintain safety awareness

PREREQUISITES

Up-to-date seafarers' medical examination

TEACHING METHOD

The training is led by a SURTYMAR trainer with a PowerPoint presentation and a discussion with the trainees.

DURATION

5 hours of training, including a written test and 2 15-minute breaks

AUDITORY

15 trainees maximum (no minimum)

TRAINER

This training course is led and supervised by a trainer with expertise and experience in implementing the knowledge and concepts taught. The trainer's CV is available on request.
